I Cepero: Some foreign ideas may be useful and worth incorporating but the pillars must be entirely our own

The direct connection between Peronism and Benito Mussolini's fascism and Adolf Hitler's racist and genocidal National Socialist regime not only stigmatized this movement that emerged around Juan Domingo Perón in Argentina from the outset, but also reinforced the idea in the minds of the country's citizens and intellectuals that the behavior of the working classes is fundamentally authoritarian. Any resemblance to what is happening in other parts of America at the moment, with un-republican characteristics and serious deficits in democratic quality, as well as sympathies towards Vladimir Putin's neo-Stalinism, is not purely coincidental.
